  1. Linux Tycoon Classic for Linux
  2. Linux Tycoon Classic for Windows
  3. Linux Tycoon Classic for DOS
  4. Linux Tycoon 3 for Linux
  5. Linux Tycoon 3 for DOS

But -- oh-boy -- that's not all.

In development are two additional versions of "Linux Tycoon 3 - The OS Wars" which will be uploaded here -- and be made instantly downloadable for everyone who has already purchased the "Linux Tycoon Mega Collection".

  1. Linux Tycoon 3 for Gameboy
  2. Linux Tycoon 3 for Android

Seriously.  You'll soon(-ish) be able to play a Linux distribution simulation game your Android phone.  Or on your Gameboy.

The Android edition will ship as a standard .APK file that you can install anywhere (no need to use the Google Play Store), and the Gameboy edition will be a standard Gameboy ROM file that you can either load on a flash cart or play within an emulator.

Linux Tycoon 3

What if you had a video game where you could simulate the day-to-day running of your very own Linux distribution?

What if it took place in the near future and involved Tactical Nuclear Weapons, ground assaults, and Denial of Service attacks?

What if that game ran natively under both Linux and... DOS?

Welcome to Linux Tycoon 3 - The OS Wars.

One of the most ridiculous games ever built.

The DOS and Linux versions both have very minimal system requirements.  The Linux version is x86 and should run on just about any distro.  The DOS version... is... for DOS.

It runs... you know... on DOS.

Linux Tycoon Classic

Linux Tycoon was initially conceived as a joke -- a Linux Simulation and management game.?  How absurd!  But I like absurd things.  So I made it.

It's a funky, weird game.  Highly goofy.  And, wouldn't ya know, the darn thing even made a "Top Indie Strategy" game list the year it came out.  The Universe is funny that way.

The Linux version is a 32bit binary.  So you'll need to install 32bit (i386) versions of some libraries.  Run LinuxTycoon from a terminal to see what libraries your particular distro might be missing.  I'll get a working AppImage (.iso) with all the dependency libraries in it as soon as I get a chance.

The Windows version, likewise, is x86 32bit.  Should work dandy on XP on up.  Probably Windows 2000 as well.  Runs great in Wine.

No MacOS X build at the moment.  (But I now have a Mac to work with, so hope to have a Mac binary available before too long.)

A note on the DOS version of Linux Tycoon Classic: It's very rough.  It was made, initially, as a joke-within-a-joke.  But it is playable.  It is included here for the sake of completeness.
