Linux Tycoon for DOS
A downloadable game for Windows
This is the DOS version of Linux Tycoon.
Linux Tycoon (the Windows, Linux, & Mac version) was originally developed as a joke. It turned out to be a mildly amusing little game that went on to make a rather fun name for itself.
The DOS version was developed as another joke... on top of the original joke.
A Linux Distribution Simulation and Management game. For DOS. Utterly ridiculous... but irresistible.
This version is, to put it mildly, buggy. It simply hasn't had the "bake time" that the modern OS version has. But it's still fun to tinker around with. If there is enough interest I'd love to spend a little time polishing this version up. Just because.
How to run:
You'll need DOS. Pretty much any DOS will do. FreeDOS, MS-DOS, DR-DOS, DOSBox... it should work on any of them.
As for CPU... I've tested it on as old as an 80186 and it works dandy. Same with my 486 and early Pentium machine. Can't guarantee it'll run on an 8086... but it should.
The game runs in text mode, so any graphics display should be fine (CGA, EGA, VGA, WhateverGA should all work).
Simply run LINUXT.EXE and you're good to go!
NOTE:
This game is a free perk for all full subscribers to The Lunduke Journal:
You can purchase the game... but I really recommend simply subscribing to The Lunduke Journal to get it. Linux Tycoon for DOS is not really meant to be a standalone retail title.
